IM hoping for 30-39 but I think he has been set back a year by Pete so ill say 20-29 with him getting 35-39ish the first year of his new contract |

I think around 35pts is reasonable if Pete puts him on the PP. He was the 2nd best defense men on this team besides Andy Greene last year. I could definitely see that his positioning and play in his own end was better than his rookie year - he just needs to be more consistent |

I think he was rushed - should have done the typical Juniors until 20, AHL for 1-2 years, crack the NHL at 21-22 years old. |

He is a very smart player there is no question about that and smarts dont always show up on the score sheet but you really notice them when watching. I am hoping he has put on more muscle and strength to that big frame of his he was still getting bounced around a bit last year and in his first season if this season he comes in with 5-10 extra lbs of muscle he could be a force. |

I dont think that was his problem he had a pretty decent first year but suffered an injury on a hit from Subban and couldnt get in the grove of things after that then last season Pete refused to sit guys who 100% played worse then Larsson like Sal, Tallinder, Volchenkov, Zidlicky for whatever reason he was stubborn and tried to play the vets out of their bad play and it never worked. You have to remember he is only 20 or 21 now and has a good amount of NHL expeirence for someone of that age. There is plenty of time for him 2-3 more years before i start doibting him |

Todd Cordell: New Jersey Devils: Expectations For Adam Larsson? - Todd.Cordell
"Protection" comes in all different shapes and sizes. Going back to the first half of his first season he showed some very, very good lateral vision on the ice as well as a good idea what to do on the point in the offensive zone despite the game being a bit too fast for someone his age.
Then he got tired.
Then he started to make mistakes.
Then they put "the leash" on him
It seemed like he was a different player, and it was more than an injury. Coaches didnt seem to want his "learning curve" to cost them a playoff seed.
So, 20 minutes became 12, PP time became non existent, and puck handling became "redline and in"
Given the current structure, he should play top 4 minutes and QB a Powerplay unit.
What do I expect? Off the top of my head I don't think Larsson can't do anything that Jay Bouwmeester can do. |

15-25
I still think he gets held back this year - shvingter88
I think this a realistic expectation. He doesn't have the speed or skating ability yet to join the rush and contribute consistently. If Devils fans think all of his points are going to come from the PP, then let's just remember how bad our PP is EVERY year and reevaluate our projections. I say 15-25, although his minutes should increase. |

less than 10 points. he will start the season with the devils but by thankgiving he will be in Albany, as Merrill, gelians, and urbom will all have past him up on the depth chart. |

I know Lou has to trust his coaches but if i was him i would be thinking wtf is Pete doing with this kid. Winning that lottery was probably the luckiest thing that will happen to the Devils for a long time and to get the guy they could of only prayed to get and just richard around with him if he gets the same amount of ice time and benchings as last season I would move him more a player that Pete doesnt hate or for a player that already plays the game they want him to instead of trying to change the way he plays. |

If I where to make a guess I would say Urbom doesnt play more then 50 games for the Devils and gets moved. I wont even touch on the Larsson part as he is going to make you look silly |

I think Lou was pretty happy with that SCF appearance in Larsson's first season. |

Thats what I mean though it didnt impress Pete too much by the way this season played out ! I like Pete and I am a Larsson supporter but I think Pete has had no idea what he is doing when it comes to Larsson and thats where I disagree with Pete but other then how he uses Larsson he is a great coach. It worries me though cause he has a history of not getting along with guy in Florida it wouldnt be good for him and Larsson to not get along when he could be a franchise defensemen |

To be fair, I don't see what Zidlicky brings to the table that Larsson doesn't. I mean Larsson will make the bad read, keep his head down, and miss an assignment, but so does Zid. Considering Larsson is so much younger I assumed he was going to replace Zid this year. Still, I wouldn't get too concerned just yet. Larsson is young and still under team control for the foreseeable future. |

For sure I would say Larsson is way better defensivly as well. I wonder what we could get for Zid at the trade deadline if we are out of it |

He was on pace for 40 points last season was he not ? And Gonchar got a pretty good return I cant see why we couldnt get a forward prospect for him at the deadline |

Remember how many bad penalties he took? I'm more furious that Lou resigned him than I am about kovy retiring. |
